Liam is very creative and social. He loves the outdoors and is a talented photographer. While he thrived socially in school, he had never found academic success.

Through his junior year he was barely surviving, earning C’s and D’s. His parents contacted Linda in August before his senior year, desperate for help.

When we first met with Linda we weren’t even sure that private school would be an option. Linda put us at ease and instantly gave us hope that there was a great fit for our son out there. —Liam’s mom

Liam’s Thrive Characteristics

After getting to know Liam, it was clear to Linda that he needed a school with experienced faculty who could provide him with the tools and strategies to deal with his ADHD. Equally important, he needed a place where he could continue to pursue his love of photography and the outdoors.

She met with my husband and I and had a separate meeting with our son to get to know him. She made good recommendations that were realistic and a good fit for our situation. — Liam’s mom

Finding Liam’s Thrive Schools

Within a week, Linda had him scheduled to interview at three schools, all with learning support, outdoor programming, and photography. He received an offer from one (his top choice) and started in September as a repeat junior.

She helped us through every stage: she coached him through the interview and school tour process, she made personal contacts with the admissions departments of the schools we were interested in, and once he made his decision she followed up to make sure that he was settling in ok. And then on one of our visits in the fall, imagine our delight to find a card and print of our hometown hanging on the wall in our son’s dorm room that he had received from Linda. — Liam’s mom

Results

Liam earned A’s and B’s in his first year at his new thrive school. He was a member of the ski and mountain-biking teams and continues to pursue his photography and outdoor passions.

Linda opened our eyes to things that we didn’t believe were possible. Decisions about our kids are so important and she earned and retained every bit of trust we put in her. She was a treat to work with and made an overwhelming process a breeze. — Liam’s mom
