Linda really knows kids. All kinds of kids.

She has seen first-hand what works and what doesn’t for many types of students.

Experience

Since 1999 Linda has worked at a diverse set of schools in several capacities, working with kids of differing abilities across the educational spectrum.

Her roles have included:

  • Director of Enrollment Management

  • Associate Director of Admissions

  • Math teacher

  • Field hockey coach

  • Dorm head

  • Advisor

  • Director of International Exchange Programs

The schools include:

  • Phillips Exeter Academy

  • Brooks School

  • Berwick Academy

  • Tilton School

Do what you love

Linda earned a BS in Mathematics and Philosophy from Vanderbilt University and a MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS). Prior to finding her path in education she spent almost 15 years as a management consultant and as the Director of Career Services at HBS. Then she decided to take her own advice and ‘do what you love and not get caught up with what everyone else is doing.’ She left her job at Harvard to teach math, coach and advise at Tilton School and never looked back.

Guiding principles

Student-Centered

Educational consulting is about the student. Linda’s goal is to get to know the student, at his core, so she can help him present his best self in the application process, as well as identify a list of potential thrive schools.

Passion-Driven

When you’re passionate, everything else falls in place. A key part of thriving is finding the right school where the student can pursue his passions.

Authentic

Linda sees her job as not ‘packaging’ the student with fancy wrapping paper and a bow, but rather to help the student present his authentic self.

Nurturing a time of self-reflection, discovery and exploration

Linda’s approach to educational consulting focuses on getting to know each student as a person through a variety of assessments, including conversations and unplugged, outdoor explorations. With a true understanding of the student, she can then identify a list of potential thrive schools and help the student present her best self in the admissions process.

What “thrive” means

Thriving is about finding confidence in who you are and pursuing your passions, not just earning good grades or making the varsity team. It is about finding a community where you can be your authentic self, surrounded by ‘your people’—peers and faculty who have your best interest at heart. It is a community where exploration is celebrated and you feel comfortable pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Ultimately, it is finding your happy place. When you’re happy, learning and growth happen.

Linda’s happy places are spending time with her husband and daughter, and in the mountains. She is proud of her native roots in Michigan and resides in Portsmouth, NH.
